Egg hunt at our friends' house!

You can never have too many egg hunts, can you? Our friends Dave and Melissa had a bunch of kids over with their parents for an Easter Egg hunt. There were more than 250 eggs for the kids to find. There were also 3 big prize eggs, one with $5 and two with $1. The $5 egg was the hardest to find and the kids went round and round the yard looking for it, there were a few older kids that I was sure would be the ones to find it, but I was wrong. Guess who found the egg... Jacob of course! He is always finding lost articles at home. Whenever I can't find something I always go to Jacob for help.

Micah is too busy to pause for a picture.

Ben wants to play but he can't put his basket down for fear someone will take his goodies!

This is Jacob with his grand prize egg. It was completely hidden in the lemon tree under the leaves! Way to go Jacob!!!

Poor Tyler!

Thursday night Tyler was trying to be a good boy and get some exercise in hopes of lowering his cholesterol. He went to the church to play some basketball, and guess what happens... He sprains his ankle, really bad, the worst he's ever sprained it. He's got a brase and some crutches but is still in a lot of pain, to top it off, he's in charge of the Elder's Quorum activity tomorrow night!

Park Day and Easter Eggs!

We actually made it out of the house today! We borrowed Hannah Martin and brought her to the park with us. Hannah is Jacob's favorite friend. He tells me that he is going to marry Hannah. Hannah is the biggest tomboy I have ever known, and she is beautiful with long thick blond hair, which makes her perfect in Jacob's eyes. She loves to do the same things as Jacob, but she has long pretty hair. He is very smitten with her. While they were playing Legos, he just stopped and watched her for a little while. She likes Jacob quite a bit too, as a friend. I don't think it's as big a deal to her as it is to Jacob.

Hannah Martin and Jacob

Ben has always been pretty freaked out on the swing, but this park trip I think helped get him over his fears. He was very scared and didn't want to go high, like always, but by the end of our visit he was swinging as high as we could push him. Way to conquer your fear Benji!

Hannah is the queen of the monkey bars! She went around and around several times. Micah said, "Hannah, that's really good, I can't even do that! Well, let me see." He was inspired. He couldn't go nearly as long as her, but it was the longest I've ever seen him go on them, good job Micah!

They all played Hogwarts while we were at the park and didn't want to go home because there was no "tower" at home. I wonder if this Olive tree was supposed to be the whomping willow?

Ben really wanted to get up in that tree.

Dying Easter Eggs is one of my favorite things to do. This year I didn't make that many, so there were enough for each of us to only to 2, so I tried to make my 2 really count! Tyler did one and donated the other to Ben. Tyler knows how much I love coloring Easter Eggs, so He took charge of Peyton so I was able to really enjoy it this year. Dying eggs is something I always did with my dad and it was a special thing for us, so I always think of him whenever I color eggs. All the eggs looked great, I think we should do fewer every year, and that way there are less to eat! We love them, but we are all trying to help support Tyler in lowering his cholesterol, we want him around for a very long time!

Getting ready to dye eggs!

daddy (Tyler) quickly working to get his one egg done.

Ben is thinking really hard about what he's going to do with his next egg.

My sweet husband taking care of the baby so I can enjoy this activity.

My favorite egg of my 2.

Micah's eggs, one of them is a world on one side and on the other it's an eyeball.

Jacob's eggs, one of his is an outside scene with grass and a sky.

One of Ben's eggs, it was all scribbled, actually pretty cool.

Aunt Morgan's favorite of hers, pretty flowers all over it, I wish you could see the whole thing.

My silly Jacob was so exhausted he fell asleep in his bed with a Power Ranger on his face! We were up too late dying eggs.

Stay at home mom.

That is pretty much exactly what I was today. We just hung out at home not worrying about much of anything. I let the kids play too many video games. Ben made a huge mess of the playroom. Peyton slept half the day away

and Jacob took Diego prisoner in Ben's pirate ship. Poor Diego. He was a good sport though. Ben let him escape before I got the picture and Jacob was in tears. My mom had stopped by though and she helped retrieve Diego from under me and Tyler's bed so we could hold him captive just long enough to get a few pictures. Once he was finally released I told him what a good dog he was and he came out with his tail wagging.

That night I went to mutual where a total of 2 girls showed up, so I got to sit and chat with the other leaders. After that I went Kritsa Gage's to make flower clips for Peyton. I had a lot of fun learning a new craft and visiting. I also got sent home with a huge bag of hand me downs which I love, THANKS KRISTA! Some I can wear now and the rest I am aspiring to!

Peyton is 2 months!

Aunt Morgan and "Aunt" Janie found a cute summer dress for Peyton and wanted to bring it by. I think they really just wanted to see Peyton!

Aunt Morgan, My little sister and Peyton.

"Aunt" Janie, my mom's ex-husband's ex wife (my step sister's mom and a part of the family!)and Peyton.

Time does go by so quickly. I tried to get a really cute picture of Peyton and she just wasn't into the whole photo session thing.

"Mom, this is probably the best you'll get from me right now."

"I'm really getting bored, this is about the 20th picture you've taken of me, won't one of them do?"

"Ok, that's it, I'm done, I've had it, pick me up and take care of me NOW!"

Dart Tag

Ok, so I am planning on blogging sometime at the end of the week. So much has been going on and I have been getting lots of pictures since Sunday. I felt like I really needed to get on here and get a few things down though. We had play group at our house today which was a huge feat for me, if you know me, you know how anal I am. Before I ever have people over I clean the house from top to bottom, not anymore, I am over that, or trying really hard anyway. I didn't do any cleaning, except...Last night one of my casserole dishes slid off the counter and shattered into a million pieces. Inside I think I was almost glad, because that gave me a reason to have to sweep and vacuum and mop the kitchen floor, and since I was already doing that, I might as well vacuum the rest of the house and mop the entry way! Anyway, there were a ton of kids here, most of our playgroup showed up and since it's spring break all the bigger kids were here too. It went really well, no problems, but of course all the toys that could be anywhere but where they go, were. This is not why I'm blogging though. The kids were playing Nintendo while I was trying to sort through the rubbish of toys strewn all about when 2 of the neighbor boys came by. Garrett and Sam. They are both 6th graders, or Garrett might be a 7th grader, not sure. They are really good kids with nice families though. They came by to see if the kids could play. They do this fairly often and I love it. It gets my kids outside running around and I think it's very sweet that they play with my little boys like there is no age difference between them. I hope my neighbors don't mind too much that I let my 7 and 5 year old boys be responsible for their 2 year old brother (he is almost 3 though) So, I noticed that the last few days they are playing together more often, I am pretty sure it's due to our dart tag stuff. We have had 5 guns complete with velcro darts (tons of them) and vests the darts stick to with targets on them and some pretty cool glasses too for quite a while. Well, if you know how anal I am/was I never let them play with them outside, and rarely inside, I guess for fear some of the hundreds of darts get lost. Ok, yeah, so what if all the darts get lost, they are having so much fun with them, we can buy more, right? So, they have been playing dart tag with the neighbor boys for the last few days and having a blast and yes, losing some of the darts, oh well. They may find one outside somewhere months or years from now and say, "Gosh, remember all that fun we had? I didn't take a picture, that happens, we don't have to have a picture to go with every blog, do we?

St. Patricks Day!

Monday was one of our busiest days in a long time. Every year I make the kids a green breakfast on St. Patricks Day. I have been doing this since Micah was 2 years old and the kids love it and they never let me get away without doing it. Peyton cried most of the time I was fixing breakfast, in her crib. I finally couldn't take it anymore and went to rescue her, leaving the last 2 pancakes cooking in the pan. The heat was low enough that they didn't burn, so Micah and Jacob each had one, but Jacob did inform me that they weren't as good and that they were crispy. They did have a pretty cool look to them though, almost like a cratered planet or something. After breakfast I made my first major grocery shopping trip with all four kids. We have done quick runs to the grocery store and Target and Wal Mart, but this was major. I spent almost 2 hours shopping at Winco. Micah had to help me out and push the cart a few times because Peyton decided that she needed to be held. I'm still working on getting that girl to take a pacifier (Krista, I don't know how you did it the other night, you must have the touh!). It wasn't a horrble experience and I'll definately do it again sometime, but I still hate grocery shopping. How I managed to go more than 2 months without a bigger trip I'll never know, must have been a blessing from above! After that I made a green dinner, that's a first and last. Tyler hates eating things that are the wrong color (he refused to have green milk, so he and I went for nice clear water) and I think overall it was just too much green coloring! It tasted great, but I really don't want to change anymore green poopy diapers!

Me with my pancake batter!

The breakfast; Pancakes, Eggs, Toast and Milk. Enjoy!

Micah and Jacob chowing down, the green color doesn't hurt their appetite!

Ben loves it too!

This is where Peyton hangs for most of our meals.

Jacob likes to put the groceries on the conveyor belt.
