Tyler was not seduced...

Oh my the last few days have been eventful! Let me start by saying that we do have a lawn now, WOO HOO! Thanks to some wonderful members of our ward family, Kristie and Phillip Call and Yolawnda Stutzman. Also thank you to those of you who were more than willing to come help, Margaret McCauley and Craig Saunders and Larry (My Dad), and Ron (My father in law) and Brent Laing too! I also want to thank all of my and Tyler's wonderful friends for their calls and concern, you mean a lot to us!

Ok, so while Tyler was at the ER he called me to let me know they would be sedating him to relocate his shoulder. He called me a little while after and was talking funny (trying to make me think he had been sedated) he let me know that they didn't have to sedate him, he touged it out and the Dr was able to get it back in without too much difficulty. Anyway, he later asked if when he had called and was talking funny I thought he had been seduced. I had to laugh, he of course meant sedated.

So this is the before sod and after Tyler finished the sprinkler system. I am so glad he waited till those sprinklers were done to get hurt. I don't think I could have done that as easily.

Another before view. That is my Fountain that Ty found at OSH on major clearance and sale on top of that.

Look at us awesome ladies doing Man work! Thanks for checking my blog Kristie to know what was going on and take the initiative to come and sweat and get dirty! Yolawnda, thanks for always being there to help me with whatever and making me feel like I can always ask for anything.
At one point Tyler asked me to help him get his sling off because it was "restrictive" I told him no, that was the whole idea. He backed down and did a great job supervising and cutting holes for the sprinklers, I let him do that much.

My sister Morgan was the photographer, so I have no pictures of her, but she helped with my kids as well as Yolawnda's kids. They were very good. Morgan also cleaned up all the messes they made while we were working.
I was dreading laying sod, but I was ready to do it all myself if I had to, and I was prepared to suffer. Surprisingly, I enjoyed it. It wasn't hard. Of course, if I had to do it all myself I'm sure it would have taken lots more than the hour or so it did take and it would not have been as fun or as easy.

See, isn't he a great supervisor. Believe it or not, this is really hard for him. He would way rather be doing the work himself. He has a hard time delegating and not helping.
Savannah was just getting a little toe jam for her bread.

Here is my crew, all sweaty and dirty. Thanks guys, so, so much. I had fun, really, I did. I rarely get to visit with Kristie and everytime I do I always think of how I'd love to visit more with her. I also thought that since the sod was Tyler's Father's Day gift, it was fitting it should be laid for him. I wish I would have thought to do that on my own, without the injury. Phil is a really great guy too, thanks for loading up the wheelbarrows with all that sod. That was a huge, huge help. I learned that I am not that good with balancing heavy wheelbarrows full of sod while pushing them. I only turned one on it's side once though, I'm learning, what can I say?

Cutting the shape into it, and keeping the edges wet. Tyler was telling me how cute my feet are in this pic, I like that we are both smiling. What a happy and fullfilling day.
Right after I got dressed after my much needed shower, the phone rang. It was the kids school nurse, Micah's to be exact. She called to let me know Micah had an accident at lunch recess. He had a double bloody nose, a busted lip and she was afraid he was going to lose his top front left tooth. She asked if I had a good relationship with our dentist because she thought I should get him in right away in case something could be done to save his tooth. My dentist has been my dentist for many years and he's the best. I called his wife at home and she had him call my cell phone not 30 mintutes later. He asked how soon I could get him there and met me at his office.

His name is Dr. Williams, we lovingly call him Dr. Bob. This is what he showed up in to his office. I love it! My mom said it was exactly what she would picture him wearing off hours.
His lip will be swollen for a few days, but the Dr. says his tooth should be fine. He says he got lucky, any lower or higher hit and his tooth would be a goner. I promise I will no longer think Ill thoughts of people that are missing teeth. Teeth are a precious gift, take care of them!

Slep with one eye open, gripping your pillow tight.....this is how I found Ty sleeping. He has been catching up on sleep the last few days, so unlike him! I'm not big on letting him get much sleep, but I'm allowing it now because I think he really needs it to help him get better.

Miss P is enjoying the yard, everywhere there isn't grass! She is super girlie, except when she's not! Helga, I'll see if I can get the stains out of this one for Makyla! I love a challenge.

Tyler is in the hospital right now

Yep, as I sit here at nearly 1 am, he is waiting to be put under so they can relocate his shoulder. Thank you to Craig and Nicole for taking him, I think they have loads of experience with hospital visits...anyhow Yay for church basketball! I think Tyler one upped himself from the stitches he needed above his eye from a church basketball injury a few years back. It would have been nice if his shoulder could have been popped back in right off the bat, but sadly it could not, so it had plenty of time to swell, I am glad they are going to put him out for it though, poor guy.

Oh yes, I nearly forgot the best part...Our sod is coming in the morning for our backyard! So, if any of ya'll are reading this and you just can't stay away, feel free to come lay a few chunks of grass, I am not going to allow Tyler to touch it.

Thanks Mom (Laing) and Jennifer Ward

Sunday we had dinner at Tyler's parents house and my mother in law diagnosed me with Plantar Fasciitis.

Plantar fasciitis is a painful inflammatory condition of the foot caused by excessive wear to the plantar fascia that supports the arches of the foot or by biomechanical faults that cause abnormal pronation.[1] The pain usually is felt on the underside of the heel, and is often most intense with the first steps of the day. It is commonly associated with long periods of weight bearing or sudden changes in weight bearing or activity. Obesity, weight gain, jobs that require a lot of walking on hard surfaces, shoes with little or no arch support, and inactivity are also associated with the condition.
Plantar fasciitis was formerly called "a dog's heel" in the United Kingdom. It is sometimes known as "flip-flop disease" among US
podiatrists. The condition often results in a heel spur on the calcaneus, in which case it is the underlying condition, and not the spur itself, which produces the pain.

For the last 2 months or so every morning when I get up my feet feel bruised, like they did when I was pregnant and the swelling would subside. I still swell, so I put my worry aside. The pain got worse and lasted throughout the day and was worse when I got up from sitting or resting. The pain is so bad I can hardly stand it and walk like an old woman when I first get up. I finally went to the doctor and he basically said, oh well. Thanks Doc.
So, my "Mom" and I were talking about exercising and losing weight and stuff and I told her that I was exercising quite a bit but that I was having a foot problem. I started to go into detail and she was finishing all my sentences for me. She has the same thing and it started about the same time, but she was diagnosed and is being treated, yahoo! So, with multiple daily stretches and icings I should be on the 12 month road to recovery. So, sometimes it pays to complain, if it's to the right person!

Now, Jennifer, she gave me a bag of ice for Benjamin because as we were leaving piano lessons at her house, I slammed Ben's hand in the van door, I know, poor baby. He reached out just as I was shutting it, and you have to shut it pretty hard. It bounced right off his hand. Miracle of miracles, he didn't want the ice and it seems to be fine, knock on wood. So, as I sit here at my laptop I am stretching my foot and icing it with Ben's bag of ice so it won't go to waste! Thanks guys, who needs a doctor when I've got you?!

Melissa, here is my ride.

You asked for it! I wasn't going to post mine because I actually look like an idiot going down and I hurt myself pretty badly right at the end of the run. You might be able to hear it in my voice that there is a little more than just excitement there. Just beneath the snow right where I slide off the saucer there was a small tree trunk sticking up and my thigh slid right over it. To make matters worse, I was done sledding and then they found a good run, so I had already taken off my gloves and my snow pants. I was wearing thin cotton pants that the tree scraped me right through and my hands got pretty sore from sliding on the ice. I was not planning on falling off of my saucer.

Don't try this at home kids.

When life gives you lemons...blog about it!

I have dozens of other posts that I should be doing before this one, but this is what's going on in my life right now and I feel like blogging it!

Yesterday after Micah's piano lesson Micah and Jacob were playing in the backyard at Jennifer's and Micah was doing some trick on the scooter and somehow the scooter handle cut Jacob's head open. It was not a big cut and it hardly bled, so I really debated taking him in to urgent care. I finally decided I would take him only because of how open it looked. Jacob was very scared that he'd have to get stitches. I told him he probably would not have to because it was small. I thought they might put a butterfly on it or some of that glue they use now. I was wrong. They no longer stitch things, they staple. He got one little staple. The Doctor, who was very young, was very nice and got Jake on the table and cleaned him up and clicked it closed without even mentioning what had to be done. Jacob wailed for awhile and then was over the pain part of it. He doesn't want anyone to know he has a staple in his head, he wants me to delete the picture I took and forbids us to speak of it. He thinks people will make fun of it or say how gross or bad it is and it will scare him. Hw went to school today and told Micah not to tell anyone at school about it.

I took Peyt to the doctor this morning and she had to get a steroid shot. Tyler and I were up with her all night, literally. She's got croup and wants to be in my arms and no where else. I am trying to enjoy this because she is not a cuddler usually and I am now getting lots of love from her. I just think of all my chores piling up and all that I'm not getting done. I am sleep deprived and grouchy and emotional, but like they say, babies don't keep! This morning she fell asleep on Ben's chest and I've seen little else in my life more precious than that.

Outside the Urgent Care, Jacob is upset with me for photographing his stapled head.

One little, shiny staple.

Peyton after the doctor's visit, she really needs to be held.

This morning before the doctor's visit, my two sweet babies. Peyton is so loved by her big brothers!

On the same note, another event...Our closet was emptied of clothing when I got home and the washer and dryer were going and there were many other piles waiting to be washed because Ty went to get dressed for work and there were red ants all over our clothes and in the bag of dog food we keep in our closet, great, as if we didn't have enough to deal with! When it rains it pours!

Family bike ride and Tyler's burn story

*Scroll down more, there are lots of new posts!

Well, I am hanging out at my mom's house today and of course brought along my laptop. I'm bound and determined to catch up on my blogging! They have a wireless router and it is so handy since my pictures are on my laptop now! Peyton is on my lap and my sister is out back swimming with the boys. Speaking of swimming, Ben is quite the fish now. He swims to the bottom and gets things and he can come up to breath too. He loves jumping in and is fearless.

We decided to take all the kids on a bike ride, we ended up only making it around the block. Peyton was tired, it was already 30 minutes past bedtime, but I thought the ride might relax her, wrong. She screamed the entire time. When the weather cooles off we'll try it again.

It's hard to get a picture of our little furry friends in a natural pose. As soon as they see me with the camera they move. They were sleeping right next to each other, so cute, they really love each other.
My two animal lover kiddos wanted to be in a picture with them.

Last night while I had mutual Tyler took on all 4 kids as he has been doing most Wednesday nights. He had plans to Bar-b-que burgers for them and he did! My dear friend Donna let me borrow her eliptical and I called ahead to have Tyler move out the treadmill to make room for it. He was getting the kids to bed and he said he needed a hair cut when I got home. I said sure. I thought maybe he had some kind of interview or something important going on because I very recently had givin him a haircut. So, getting to the point, I get the eliptical and 4 books to borrow(thanks again Donna, you're great!) and make it home to find Tyler in the front yard adjusting sprinklers, 4 kids asleep in their own beds, and a tidy house, dinner cleaned up and everything! As you may have guessed, there's more to this story...
While lighting our new bar-b-que, Ty forgot to open the side vents and had a huge fire ball engulf his head. One eyebrow is pretty much gone and the other looks really well groomed. His eyelashes are extremely short and the hair on the front and sides of his head was burned almost all the way down to his scalp. It turns out it was a good thing he had a recent haircut, otherwise his hair probably would have caught fire and kept burning. I had to cut his hair really short to get off all of the melted parts. He never lets me cut it very short, so that was fun, I wish he'd let me shave it just once! I was going to do this post later, but oh well. Here are some pics for it. The first few were when I was really wrestling to get a picture, he hates me taking pictures of him, especially in this case, I think he feels kind of dumb about the whole incident. He finally gave in, sort of and he at least remained still. For those of you wondering, he is ok, his face and lips are a little burnt, but he's fine, thank God, it could have been worse.

Tyler trying so hard to hide his hair, check out his eyebrows...

You may have to click the picture to really see the singed hair, it is the hair that appears more orange in color.

There we go, all around the sides of his head, it smelled so gross.

I snapped a few pics this morning after his haircut, wow, very short! He wore a hat to work today, he never does that, I didn't even think he could!
I love you honey! Thanks for providing me something to blog about!!!
