Before AND After!
Tyler and I have been wanting to redo our kitchen cabinets since we moved in more than 3 years ago. We finally braved the job and got it done. I know a lot of you are not fond of black cabinets and when I mentioned the color to people before we did it I heard a lot of skeptics. That being said, Tyler and I both love them and it's ok if no one else does because they're ours! I don't think you can see it very well in the pictures, but I did distress them, also not everyone's favorite, but I love it and I'm very happy with the results. What's your opinion? Don't worry, I really want to know, I don't think you can hurt my feelings! What do you guys think of the decor? Any suggestions to improve it? Is there too much stuff? There will be more cabinet redos in the near future, we still have the bathrooms, hallway and maybe the laundry room, we'll see. Also, new kitchen towels. Any suggestions on where to go for those?

I read somewhere that every room needs the color "mustard" in it? Just a pop of the color, maybe in a picture of something... I don't know if that's true but the rooms that were in the article were awesome and the mustard color did make them pop !! If you've been to my house you know I have not follow this advice !! Yet...
I love them! Black is my favorite color! I totally agree with Robin, a splash of mustard would look really good. My mom has a bunch of that color...go take some stuff she isn't using!
I LOVE them!! They really update a room, black looks great with the stainless steel appliances and countertops and backsplash you have. I think it looks great...but then I'm the one who just painted my table black and got new black chairs!:) Good job--I know how much work goes into that, it's a pain!!

You did a amazing job! I love the black cabinets. It looks great with the black appliances and the color of the floors! I love it!! Don't worry about what other people say...you love them and it makes you happy! Thats all that matters!! =)
When I first saw the before pictures, before scrolling down, I thought, "Oh this is a nice looking kitchen." But then I scrolled down and I thought...why would they want to improve on perfect? But then as I looked at them more I really fell in love with the black. It is stunning. Classy. Different. I really like what you have done. And it even looks bigger.

The black looks great! When compared to the pictures of the previous cabinets, you can just see how much it makes things pop, like the back splash. Paint can make a huge difference, very nice! You should talk to Terra about designer stuff, she has a great eye for those things!
Looks good, more contemporary, nice! I love the pulls and knobs. Can you come to my office? How much do you charge? ha, seriously. I am so over painting. You did great.
I LOVE IT! My kitchen is black too. It drives my mom crazy. She wants everthing to be blue and dusty rose, with fake ivy all over.
I love the black Kelly. My mom painted her kitchen cabinets black too and they just look really good.
