Thanks Babe!

My mind has really been elsewhere lately. I have had no desire to blog, or check others blogs, but I have, a little. I have been sewing like a madwoman trying to get Christmas presents made. This year we're going inexpensive and thoughtful, which could also translate to time consuming. I used to say that I hated sewing, and I'm sure my hatred for it will still come and go. My very dear friend Yolawnda got me back into it, I made a little dress for P, and it was fun, I actually enjoyed it, and now I can't stop, my latest endeavor is Barbie clothes.
Anyway, I did want to post this picture, it's Tyler's side of the bed. If you remember in a previous post it looked a lot different. I wish I would have moved his church backpack, but that's all that is there now! I asked him where it all went, he said he threw most of it away and the rest got put away. Wow! Thanks! Now I'm wondering what I should post next, the weeds in our backyard, or maybe our garage...Now I need to clean up my side of the bed, and all my growing craft piles (grandma has been donating fabric to support my sewing addiction).

It's over!

Done with jury duty and justice was served. It was a good experience but I am so glad it's over. If you are ever able to serve on a jury, do it. I truely do feel that it was a priveledge, a hardship, yes, but a priveledge nonetheless. I have learned through this experience that our justice system is pretty good. It was not an easy decision but we had a great jury that wanted to be thorough and fair, and boy were we! We deliberated 2 full days and then some! I feel very comfortable with the decision we came to, but it was still difficult and sad. I am grateful to have been born into the situation and location I was. I am grateful for parents that were educated well enough to teach me some important morals that I feel the defendant was probably not taught. It's a sad cycle. My heart really does go out to him and others in similar situations. Anyway, it's back to life! Tyler, you will now always find spoons in the drawer. Thank you to all who helped these past few weeks, and all who were willing to help. Yolawnda, Morgan and Sandy, and of course Tyler, biggest thanks to you for all of the childcare provided, I could not have done it without you!!!

Eye yai yeye!

Ha, not sure how to even begin to spell that really. I am still here, sorta. I am still serving on a jury in which I thought we'de be done today, but we weren't. It's back at it tomorrow. Anyhow, I sympathize with all you working mom's out there. This stinks. I miss my babies. Ty told me that for the first time since we've been married he went to get a spoon from the drawer and there were none. Micah ran out of undies a few days ago and had to wear Jacob's. I am somewhat caught up on the laundry now, and we do have clean dishes, they are just kept in the dishwasher for now:)
I am enjoying my experience serving on a jury and have met some truly neat people, but I know that my place is in my home taking care of my family. I am grateful for this time I've had away as it has really helped me appreciate what a blessing it is to be a stay at home mom!

Optimus Prime Crying, oh wait, that's Peyton

This was a few weeks ago. Since I posted the video of my mom recently I thought I'd just keep it up. I have a lot of very short videos from my camera that I never post, so here you go. We were playing with the boys voice changing Optimus Prime helmet and Peyton was pretty funny with it. I wish I would have gotten my camera out sooner.

I guess this is where I get it

This is my mother on the day my sister had her baby. I think she was a bit anxious...or something. Anyway, I'm a bit goofy, and I'm beginning to think it's because of my mom.

Bryan, Helga and Makyla!

Amidst all of the craziness last weekend with my sister having a baby, I was still able to manage to find a wee bit of time to visit with my Brother-in-law Bryan and his little family. It was the first time we've met their baby Makyla. I think these two little girls were both teething!
Peyton is one tough cookie to win over, especially if you belong to the male variety and are not her daddy! Uncle bryan didn't give up though...
and eventually she went from screaming to indifference. I'm sure that next time we see them he may even get a smile.
All the kids were quite taken with Aunt Helga, as was I. I'm hoping that next time we can fit in some more of the fun and crafty ideas that we have!
Ben and Bryan
The kids adored Helga...
She got right down to their level!
Bryan and Jake
Micah and Makyla (look at those beautiful blue eyes!)
We had fun playing games and visiting and can't wait to see you again. We'll have to play DIP DIP DIP, DIPPITY DIPPITY DIP again.

Yes dear, you really are almost perfect

and I'm sure that you sometimes have a difficult time finding things to improve upon (this is actually not true, my husband is also quite humble and doesn't think he's as fantastic as I think he is). So, I have racked my brain and I came up with this for you. In case you are wanting something to work on, this might be a good idea. Get rid of your piles, starting with the ones by your bed. If you need help finding places to put things, ask me. Also, if you look in our closet, back right, there are some boxes stacked up that have indiviual cubby holes for your shoes. You can put your shoes in there instead of all along the bed! One benifit to this is that I'll be able to vaccuum all of the little dust bunnies up from that side of our room! If you have dirty clothing, put it in the hamper, if it's clean, put it on the bench and the little clean up fairy (me) will come and put them all away for you. You really are wonderful and I can live with your piles because you are such a great man. I just thought this would be a fun post because we know how I feel about messes and piles. They are a part of you and I love all parts of you, that being said, if you decide you want to change anything about yourself, I would be ok with you changing that!

I'm Late!

I know that school has already been back in session for a few weeks but I've been busy! So, I am now teaching preschool to Ben and he is a great student. We have school at least 3 times a week, sometimes more. He has fun and really enjoys learning.
Micah just got a new teacher today, they sent his old teacher to another school. His new teacher is the same one he had last year and he's very happy about that and so am I!
My 2nd and 4th graders...I can't believe I have an upper grader now!
Jake has the same teacher as Micah had 2 years ago and we like her too! SHHHH, don't tell anyone, but at the first awards assembly Jacob is getting Sparthenian of the Month and Star Reader!
She has been teaching for a very long time, some of my friends went to the same school and had her. She must be older than she looks!
He's pretty cool.

Oh yes, and for those of you wondering, my nephew's name is Dustin Jay!

The pics you've been waiting for!

Ok, I am feeling happily overwhelmed! I love all the comments. I guess if I read blogs and don't comment other people must do that too! Anyhow. We just got home from introducing the kids to their new cousin and I have too many great pics from that, but I'll just share a few. First up are a few from yesterday.

Dr. Dickinson, he was on call for her regular Dr. and we really liked him. I love this picture. This wonderful man spend 25 minutes sewing up a 4th degree tear. Here he is. Much smaller than all of my babies but bigger than I was guessing. I don't know where she hid him in that little belly of hers.
One great thing about vaginal births, they let her eat right after! I am so jealous...Daddy went and got her McDonalds, daughters always have their Dads wrapped around their finger.
This is from this morning, do I look like a proud Auntie?
I love me some new baby softness! He is already a snugglebug.
Then tonight, all the kids took their turns holding him. This guy loves Babies.
What a big boy!
He held him for quite a while, I guess he likes babies too!
There were too many adorable pics of Miss P with him. She kept kissing his head and rubbing her lips on it and petting his head.
She also checked out his toes, they are pretty long. When I picked him up she hopped down and wanted him "out" of his blanket and said "me hold, me hold" She wanted to carry him around like she does her dolls!
Ok, off to bed! I'll be posting more soon, I am so far behind. Tyler's brother Bryan and his wife Helga and their daughter Makyla are here, it has been a very busy weekend. More to come about that part of the weekend later! Makyla is such a cutie, and a very happy smilie baby! All these babies are making me sad that we're done...but I love it, I'll take all the baby loving I can get in.

7 lbs. 9 oz. 20 in.

I'm pretty sure that only 1 or 2 people actually read my blog anymore, so I do sometimes have to remind myself that it's ok. I do this blog for out of town family, and for myself. What I experienced yesterday was definately blog worthy. I got to be with my little sister all day yesterday while she was in labor. She was induced at 12:25 and her baby was born at 8:23, less than 8 hours later. I got to be there and witness the miracle of his life begin. It was an amazing experience to be right up close and personal (I got to hold her leg), my mom and my other sister were also there. It was the first time I experienced being on the other end, and I loved it. All the joy and none of the pain! I may detail my experience of her birth later, with more detail, maybe not. I will however post pictures soon. He is a beautiful baby, and to be honest, he's as cute as mine were, and that's saying a lot. I got to go visit her again today at the hospital and hold him, I even got to change his very first poopy diaper. Nursing is going excellently, I am so relieved. I had a tough time with a few of mine. Mommy and baby are both doing well and are most likely coming home tonight. The kids (mine) are very anxious to see their new cousin and I'm looking forward to that.
