Kristie's tag

Post your 4th file 4th picture...I think I'm the Kelly that was tagged! Anyway, this picture is Peyton in her highchair. I don't remember if there was a reason I took it or not. It was taken the beginning of October this year. As you can see she has some cheerios on her tray. I may have been trying to get her to self feed. That girl must think she really is a princess or something. She will not put food in her mouth. She picks them up just fine and she sometimes puts her hands and fingers into her mouth, but she can have cheerios right in front of her and whine until you feed them to her.

I'm tagging Peggy (Grandma Honey, Linda, Janet and Donna) go into your picture files and pick the forth picture in the fourth folder and post it!

When life gives you lemons...blog about it!

I have dozens of other posts that I should be doing before this one, but this is what's going on in my life right now and I feel like blogging it!

Yesterday after Micah's piano lesson Micah and Jacob were playing in the backyard at Jennifer's and Micah was doing some trick on the scooter and somehow the scooter handle cut Jacob's head open. It was not a big cut and it hardly bled, so I really debated taking him in to urgent care. I finally decided I would take him only because of how open it looked. Jacob was very scared that he'd have to get stitches. I told him he probably would not have to because it was small. I thought they might put a butterfly on it or some of that glue they use now. I was wrong. They no longer stitch things, they staple. He got one little staple. The Doctor, who was very young, was very nice and got Jake on the table and cleaned him up and clicked it closed without even mentioning what had to be done. Jacob wailed for awhile and then was over the pain part of it. He doesn't want anyone to know he has a staple in his head, he wants me to delete the picture I took and forbids us to speak of it. He thinks people will make fun of it or say how gross or bad it is and it will scare him. Hw went to school today and told Micah not to tell anyone at school about it.

I took Peyt to the doctor this morning and she had to get a steroid shot. Tyler and I were up with her all night, literally. She's got croup and wants to be in my arms and no where else. I am trying to enjoy this because she is not a cuddler usually and I am now getting lots of love from her. I just think of all my chores piling up and all that I'm not getting done. I am sleep deprived and grouchy and emotional, but like they say, babies don't keep! This morning she fell asleep on Ben's chest and I've seen little else in my life more precious than that.

Outside the Urgent Care, Jacob is upset with me for photographing his stapled head.

One little, shiny staple.

Peyton after the doctor's visit, she really needs to be held.

This morning before the doctor's visit, my two sweet babies. Peyton is so loved by her big brothers!

On the same note, another event...Our closet was emptied of clothing when I got home and the washer and dryer were going and there were many other piles waiting to be washed because Ty went to get dressed for work and there were red ants all over our clothes and in the bag of dog food we keep in our closet, great, as if we didn't have enough to deal with! When it rains it pours!

Chinese Checkers

Jake taught his little brother something he learned at school! They got a liitle thrown off by the camera, this wasn't the best they've done it but it's still so cute.

North India

Oct. 3

We had a coupon for a free appetizer at North India Bar and Grill, so we decided to try it out. It wasn't too pricey, but it was so, so, so, good! If you like spicey and flavorful you'll love it. We live next door to an Indian family and they often times have wonderful smells coming from their house that seep into our house. Some of the food and sauces smelled exactly like our neighbors food, yum! We got curry chicken and butter chicken, the butter chicken was a peanut sauce, my favorite. It was a little similar to Thai food, but more flavorful. I hope we can go back again!

Happy Birthday Ty!

October 2

Someday I'll catch up on my blogging, maybe. Poor Tyler got that cold that was going around and was sick on his birthday. He came home from work early and was still feeling really lousy when it was time to go to my parents for dinner/birthday party. The kids and I ended up going without him so he could have a quiet night at home resting. He wanted brownies with white frosting for his cake, so I made them, and another batch with powdered sugar on top to take to my parents for dessert. It was pretty weird to be without him on his birthday! When we got home from my parents house we had him open his gifts. I got him a new suit and 2 church shirts, exciting, I know, but that's what he needed, I also got him some candy and he bought himself a watch online.

There were bat shapes on the inside of the box of brownie mix, so, why not?
Crazy swimmer Ben, he loves the water so much! What are we going to do all winter?
Jacob and Ben braved the cold water to get their fix, Micah opted out this time.
They all warmed up in the hot tub. After I took this picture, Ben climbed out to get back in the pool and fell on the cement right on his head. He rarely cries when he gets hurt, and this time he wailed, so I know it really hurt. My sister came running from inside because she heard his head hit the concrete! What a blessing, he was fine in just a few hours, good as new!
Happy, um, 30 something honey!

Bath Time!

October 1

Peyton loves bathtime!

Getting to be so big and so smart.
He is growing so fast!
Micah was tired...and not feeling like being in a picture, so this was the look I got from him.
Peyton adores her brothers and they adore her!

Dining in

Oct. 1

Micah is so cute, whenever he sees that I'm making dinner he runs to get the table set. I never put a table cloth on, because it just gets dirty, but Micah loves having a table cloth and using glasses and having candles on the table. I ran and grabbed the camera so I could get this picture of him setting the table.

My bath babies. More to come from this bath!

Books!

I am back into reading again, not that I ever stopped. Kristie Metler turned me onto a series by Scott Westerfeld. There are 4 books, the first is Uglies. I've read all of those and really enjoyed them, so I did some googling to see if he had any other books. Sunday night I started Midnighters and I love it. They are books for young adults and they are science fiction, which I am learning I really like science fiction. I could be reading it right now, and here I am blogging about it! So, I'm going to go read now!

John's Incredible

Pizza! September 29

Whenever we pass it Ben shouts out the name and tells me he wants to go there. So, when Nana Byn gave us some free passes I took him and Peyton while Micah and Jacob were at school.

Ben was so cute feeding Peyton and she loved it!

They have a few play things for little ones that are free, so we spent most of our time doing that, and watching Tom and Jerry while we ate.
I had two dollars in my purse, so I splurged and we each got to play this ballon popping game that was pretty much the same as Ski Ball. Ben won some tickets and bought his sister a fairy princess wand and himself a bouncy ball and sticky thing that crawls down walls. It was a fun day.

Frogs! And more frogs!

September 27

Not too far from our house is a ponding basin, so it isn't all that hard to find many frogs during an evening stroll. Frog collecting has been one of the boys favorite things to do. They would really love to keep them in the house in some kind of container (at least for a few days?!) but we make them let the frogs go in our front yard. Essien comes hunting with cousins sometimes too, he is just as fond of the little guys as they are.

All of the boys with their frogs, from left to right; Kevin, Hoppy, Grandpa Frank and Mama (those are the frogs names)
Micah and Kevin
Ben and Mama
Jacob and Grandpa Frank (cause he has a big belly like Grandpa Frank does!)
Marcia tring to find another prince.
Essien and Hoppy
You can't tell, but this frog Marcia is holding has a really cool belly, it was blue. I don't remember which frog it was.

Hop, Hop for your lives! Jacob letting his frog go, reluctantly.

What a Dad!

I snuck up on Ty so I could get this picture, he hates pictures, escpecially

how many pictures I am always taking. Anyway, he helps Micah with his piano practice everyday. It's very cute. He'll play the songs right along with him and it melts my heart for some reason to see the two of them sitting there at the piano playing together. I have a feeling that Micah is going to be very good at the piano someday! Thanks Tyler for all your help, you are an awesome daddy.

"You are thoughtful and care very deeply for your family. A loving home is of great importance to you and you always try to make people feel welcome. Although you have a great capacity to love, you also have a great capacity to hurt, so at times you can be sensitive. You're firm when you need to be, but people trust your judgment and appreciate the kind way you always handle things."

All I want for Christmas

is my two front teeth!

September 16. Yes I know I am getting pretty behind on my posting, it's because I'm trying to keep up on reading all of your wonderful posts! Micah finally did lose his other front tooth and is now sporting a very cut grin. It was just in time for school pictures and he assured me he would smile big with his mouth open! I'll post school pics when we get them back.

September 17. For the first time ever, the tooth Fairy didn't come that night. I'm not sure what happened. Micah was just so sure that it was now true that there was no tooth fairy and it was just the parents and we forgot, as if! On the flip side, Jacob was now assured that the tooth fairy really was real, which he did not formerly believe. Micah was hoping that she would come while he was at school. I told him that I didn't think she did that, well, I was wrong. We were gone all day and returned home just before the kids got home from school. Micah ran and checked under his pillow soon after he got home and sure enough, she came!
Lucky for Micah, she left $4! b That's twice as much as usual, I guess she felt bad for not being able to get to him that night. She also left some glitter again, green glitter, last time it was gold, and the time before that, none! What a lucky boy.
