This is my sister upholstering the couch I made using a cereal box. We made a great team.
Here is the lounge chair I made from a cereal box and a cheezit box before it was upholstered.
This is the Living room furniture and the fabric over the back of the highchair is the curtains for the room. I am going to be putting Ty's carpentry skills to the test again and have him make some wood boxes for me to use as the rooms. I used cardboard the last time but I want it to be nice and last this time. I am going to use Plexiglas for the windows, if I can find it, last time I used a Ziploc bag! Nice, I know. I have learned and I'm improving. Caleen, the button on the lounge chair pillow is one I got from you, thanks!
My sister is covering the headboard. All of the fabric we are using is from Laz e Boy samples that my grandma got from her sister who works there, all free, and sometimes I use old clothing. Denim is especially good for furniture.
Do you see how happy this child is? She really likes all the throw pillows too. I will post more pics when I start getting the rooms together. I made a little boys furniture set in Americana theme that is my favorite. I'll get pics of that one for sure.
Please let me know if you have any ideas for more accessories, furniture or decor. I'm thinking of using mirrors from old compacts for the bathroom. Not sure how to make sinks and a tub yet. Any ideas are greatly appreciated!

That is too darn cute! I love Barbies...my all time favorite toy! That would be fun to make one for Kaitlin (and me too, of course) but I'm noticing that she is not playing with her Barbies as much....tear!!
VERY cute... and what a great idea. Shoot... now I have to add it to my list. OR maybe you could just start making it and sell it. Or do you at least have measurements? Kits?
SO CUTE!! You reminded me (with the need for bathroom ideas) of the old school little people (when they were truly 'little' and probably choking hazzards)that I played with as a kid--it had a bathtub and a little teeny tiny potty that the seat would flip up and you could stick the little people on it. Too funny. I'm very impressed by your wonderful creativity. I need a little girl so I can play barbies too!:) Peyton looks very happy!
I had little people too! I remember the toilet but not the bathtub. Those were the best, too bad kids had to choke on them.
I got so excited reading this, because I was a huge barbie fan. We were lucky to have a mansion given to us, but we made a lot of the furniture ourselves. So after I read this, I googled homemade Barbie furniture online, they had the cutest kitchen at: http://www.littlepeoplewealth.com/2009/01/making-your-own-barbie-furniture.html. I was just thinking too. We did a bathtub out of a tissue box-can't remember what we covered it with, maybe we were ghetto and didn't? I will look through our wallpaper samples at work that are outdated, we have some killer ones that are pretty fancy-if you're interested! So much fun, I definately see doing this in my future!
WOW! Very impressive! So very cute! I LOVE it!
Man, few things made me happier than playing with Barbies as a kid. My friend had the Barbie townhouse, and another had a Barbie airplane. I liked making inground swimming pools with tupperware bowls and a shovel. Why did I ever stop playing with them??...
I am in love. I can't wait to have a little girl in the home so I can play with Barbies again! maybe I wont wait....lol.
Wow Kelly! That looks so cute! You are quite the crafter aren't you. I bet that was so much fun. I love that kind of stuff. love ya!
Well, I am slow but, I really loved seeing it all in person. I am so impressed.. You did a super job.. You and Morgan are a fun team. I know this will be a bonding experience and Peyton will love that you did it for her. She is a doll. Thank you for your help today.. I will come visit again. I was a barbie fan too. I think I stopped playing them too early.. Thought I was too cool for them. HA.. Everything is super cute and put together well. I will look for boxes and stuff I have around here too..
