The Family Camping trip that wasn't

Every year the boys look forward to Fathers and Sons and I look forward to girls night with my daughter, mom and sister. This year however, the ball got dropped and Fathers and Sons, which is usually Mother's Day weekend, or very close to it, fell into the same weekend as our Family Camping trip that had been planned and on our calendar for many months. So, the boys went to Fathers and Sons and Peyton and I went to Soda Springs with my family.

Diego sat on Peyton's lap almost the entire way, she loved it.

She is the cutest little camper ever.
Well, Dustin is pretty darn cute too! He loved the fire, his mommy did her best to set up barriers, which he climbed.

Morgan found a very pretty adult king snake with the same coloring as her baby at home. It bit her and musked her but she stunk herself back to camp so we could get some pictures of it.

Peyton slept well, I watched her many times during the night. I was cold, the ground was hard, and I didn't leave enough room too stretch my legs out. What happened to the days when I could sleep anywhere, anytime and in any position?
While Larry, Lindsay and Morgan were fishing, My Mom, Dustin, Peyton and I hung out at camp and my Mom and I had a good conversation about "the old days" and my dad. It wasn't girls weekend by any means but it was good.

Morgan, me and the kids had some fun playtime and nap time in the tent. What was so not comfortable the night before was feeling surprisingly good!

Peyton, my little nature girl, found a really cool frog on the window of our tent.

Diego had some nap time too.

All the specks you see in this picture are ladybugs, billions of them. They were everywhere, EVERYWHERE. It was awesome.
Whats camping without getting dirty?

Honestly, I look forward to this all year.

Every year around Mother's Day is Father's and Son's, or the Aaronic Priesthood Commemoration as it is now known. Since Peyton has been in my life we have taken this opportunity to have Girl's Weekend. While the boys are away camping, us girls are living it up at home!
The boys left Thursday night and I took that evening to get the house cleaned up and did some digital scrapbooking. The next day, Friday, my sister Morgan came over and we started the celebrations. Sonic for lunch and we bought some candy and ice cream for that night, and loaded up on movies from the Red Box and Vons wanna be red box. (nothing beats Red Box!)

Mmmmmm, fast food. Clean, quiet, house. I love it.

I am so glad to have a girl to more fully enjoy times like this. She is a doll and I love having a buddy. We did some Dacing with her, which she loves....

My sister and I watched The Secret Life of Bees (my favorite of the 5 movies we got)

Morgan shared her Sour Patch Kids with Miss P and this is the face she always made. She liked them once the sour wore off.
I tried to capture her face and this is what I caught instead, a yellow Sour Patch Kid flying out of her mouth!

My Mom joined us later that evening and we had Me N Ed's pizza delivered, half combination and half pepperoni and pineapple. Our first flick of the night was Bride Wars, pretty cute, we laughed and enjoyed it. Second flick was The Curious Case of Benjamin Button. I liked it, we all liked it. It was different, if you know me, you know that I like different. I wouldn't however recommend it to all. We pigged out on Reese's Pieces and brownie ice cream. My mom and sister called it quits and went home.

Saturday left me to finish watching movies, Taken, very good, enjoyed it and then 7 pounds with Will Smith. I love Will Smith and his movies have been awesome, until this one. He was good in it but the movie itself stunk. Lame plot, pooey ending. I also did some more scrapbooking and just before my boys got home I was starting to miss them!

Ahwww moments from the end of April

I just haven't been in a blogging mood lately and have loads to catch up on. Since I am sitting here at 6 in the morning with no kids to watch, I thought I's just get it done! Tyler and "the boys" are away on their Father's and sons or Aaronic Priesthood Commemoration campout. Woo Hoo, I love my girls weekends. It's just me and Miss P and she is asleep right now, like I planned to be, I stayed up til 1am and was going to sleep until she woke up and I guess I just can't sleep in anymore. Anyway, to start this weekend off, I always clean the house first. I love it, I get to watch it stay clean for 2 days!!! Last night I picked up Panda Express for Peyton and I and we sat on the couch together and watched a show and ate right out of the container. I was great. After she went to bed I cleaned and scrapbooked and watched 4 episodes of 24. Tonight my Mom and Sister Morgan are coming over for the main event. Subway for dinner and chick flicks, and of course chocolate. This is our second annual girls weekend and I love it, I secretly look forward to it all year. It's a great bonding experience.

Ok, on to the pictures and mini stories from the month of April

This is of course my little mommy diva. There is no shortage of Girlie in her!

We had the tent set up in the front room for a week or so and she loved it. Her and the dogs played in there together quite often.

Peyton now likes Baby Signs and Baby Einstein! Ben still likes them too, so it's really cute to see them watching together. They'll talk to each other and giggle together. Very sweet. In the pic below they are both doing the sign for book, Peyton's needs a little work, she's getting there though!

My sweet girl also sometimes thinks that she is one of the dogs.
The boys dressed up for Rodeo Day, Benji was sad he didn't have cowboy boots until we convinced him that when cowboys work on their ranch they wear workboots. I thought they all looked so adorable.
We love our zoo and go quite frequently. I loved these pics. Ben asked me to take the one below and posed for it all on his own.
He loves his sister.
We went to Red Lobster for Aunt Mo's 17th birthday. The kids have been wanting to go there for a long time. Micah tried some of Papa Louie's Lobster a few years ago and has said ever since that it is his favorite food. Well, we didn't get any kids, or us for that matter, the lobster. They had to settle for the $8 a kids plate snow crab. Ben had fun playing with his crab legs and making them dance. They all liked the food but I don't think we'll be taking the kids to eat there again in the near future, it was a small fortune.
Jacob got Sparthenian of the Month! It is a very big award and I will be putting the bumper sticker on as soon as I wash the car. Micah said he just got it because his teacher ran out of good kids to give it too. That is so not true. Jacob has been working hard at school and his teacher noticed and told me how well he's been doing. Micah is very jealous. They are both straight A students, but it takes much more than good grades to get Sparthenian. It is a very hard thing to be on top of your game all the time. Micah, I know that if you keep working hard and don't give up you can get Sparthenian too! You boys are doing so well in school and I'm proud of all your hard work. I love you two so very much.
This is Miss P sporting her Alice doo. I love her hair!

I better get on to May soon before it's JUNE!

Father Son Night

February 5 was Father Son night at the boys school. I'm not exactly sure what they did, but I know they played wii bowling and had snacks. It was a hit and the picture, I thought, turned out very cute. I love my guys! It will be even more fun when Benji can join the rest of the boys.
