Our little vacation is just about over, time to head home.  While here in Pismo in our lovely hotel room I got 13 pages scrapbooked!  This is the last one I finished.  So glad we got to come this weekend.

My friend Allyson gave the Relief Society lesson on Sunday and used this quote that I just love. I wanted to remind myself of it so I made this to print and frame and I'm sharing it with you. I think you can just click it and save it to your computer and it should come out ok, I hope! I used paper from The LDS blog train blog "6 bees" (aqua paper) and the hearts. I used paper from Gettin' Scrappy with Britt's collab "Boy Meets Girl" (the orange paper for the words Harder and Better).

Life is better...

with a new computer! I have been saving up for a new computer because the one I was using was Tyler's old laptop. In computer years it was ancient, well, maybe not ancient but definately outdated. It was slow, really slow. I especially had a lot of problems with photoshop on it and with my scrapbooking program (which in all honesty was the biggest problem). I found myself rarely checking e-mail and I had to stop scrapbooking all together, one 15-20 minute page wound up costing me 5 or 6 hours of fragmented work. I would often lose all of my work too because it would say there wasn't enough virtual memory to save my work. Anyway, Tyler has been entertaining the idea of riding a bike to work to save on gas. He's been saving for a decent bike. My sister babysat for us Friday night and we needed to do a free date night so he said he wanted to go look at bikes and get an idea of what was out there and how much it cost. He suggested we go look at laptops at Costco first so I could also see how much I needed to save. We had figured I'd probably be able to afford one by the end of summer. I was very excited. The end of summer isn't that far away. Well, at Costco we found a decent laptop for a decent price, $150 off too. Tyler asked me how I'd feel about an early birthday gift. I tried really hard not to get too excited. I said that I'd love it but we didn't have the money to do that. Long story less long, he paid for the rest of my laptop with the money he's been saving! Don't I have a nice husband?

So, this is a little sample of what I've been doing for the last few days...

The laptop came with Windows 7 and has an awesome movie making program that I've been using to work on the home videos from my camera. I made one from Peyton's birth and put music on it and did some cool stuff. Anyway, I love it, I'm having fun and getting stuff done that has been on my list for a long while.

I hope no one got too excited and thought that they would get free actual Peeps. I made this little guy to scrap my Easter pics of Peyton from 2 years ago and thought someone may want it! Go get him here! Here and Here and Here and Here and Here is where you can get different versions of the peeps logo these are all png files and very quick to download! This is what I did with them, the background paper is from Summer Driggs "Owl Always Love Spring" freebie kit. The font I used for the date is "Gentle Redhead".

Still alive

This summer has been busy and fun. I was able to be Den Leader again for Scout Camp, Micah was in my group again. After Scout Camp I was also able to go to Girls Camp again, at Camp Keola. In between we have been swimming at Nana's house and going to the water park. We got passes this year which we haven't done since I was pregnant with Peyton, so the boys have been very happy. I will hopefully be posting all of our summer events soon. Our laptop is very old and is having some issues. The usb ports are pretty loose and will no longer recognize when my hard drive is plugged in which is where all of our photos are and all of my digital scrapbooking stuff is. I have lots of pictures building up on my camera and I really miss scrapbooking. Tyler said he will try to set up our wireless network again and I can do everything that way. The only drawback there is that it takes so much longer to do anything. Anyway, Tyler implemented a new program for our household, those of us at home during the day anyhow. We, myself and the boys included, are responsible for cleaning one room a day. It's been great. The boys are learning a lot, our house is getting back in shape and I'm not having to do everything! It's just one room a day and I have help, I can handle that! So far we have done the boys bathroom, their bedroom, the living room, and today the kitchen. I plan and hope to keep it up. I miss blogging, kind of ;) I must not lie, it's nice to have a break, but I do want everything recorded! I hope you are all having a great summer.

More Digital Scrapbook Pages

I have been trying to catch up on scrapbooking and finish all my pages for my 2008 book. I know, I'm almost 2 years behind. I've made dozens of pages in the last few weeks and here is my latest. I had to redo it using different kits because it just didn't look right to me. I am pretty happy with how it turned out. Thanks Janelle for telling me about Jane Austin (font), it's perfect for this page.

Jesus loves Me books

WOW! I can't believe how long it's been since I've posted. I guess all those thankful posts wore me out! I have been preparing like crazy for Christmas and trying to stay on top of everything else, so, to say the least...I have been busy.

A few, well, several years ago, back when I had only 2 kids, my sister in law, Becca made a book for each of my kids. There was a page for each family member with a picture saying "Daddy loves Micah" and so forth. The last pages in the books was a picture of Jesus and it said, "Jesus loves Micah" and in Jacob's it of course said, "Jesus loves Jacob!" Well, these books were well loved, especially by Benjamin. Yep, one of my kids that didn't have one. He looks through his brothers books all the time pointing out and naming all the family members. Well, many people have been added to our family since then, and Ben and Peyton didn't have one, so I decided to make them one using my digital scrapbooking stuff. I do believe it would be called a hybrid book! That is where you use digital stuff to make something tangible. Anyhow, I set out making Benji's book first and Micah saw it and he of course thought it was pretty cool and asked if I could redo his book (the books my sister in law made were a picture glued on construction paper and the words printed or typed on and then laminated, nothing fancy but very well loved!) I do believe they were made even before either of us were much into scrapbooking, and definately before things went digital. So I made the decision to make a book for each of my kids. There are about 40 pages for each book.

I have posted several so you get the idea. After I post this blog I am going to upload them all to Costco and order the prints!!! Becca, thanks for the idea, I love you!

Also, I am going to try to do some catching up on my other blog, Out of the Mouths of Babes, so the posts here may be few and far between, so if you miss me, go read my other blog, leave a comment there too, no one ever comments, I often wonder if anyone ever even reads that one!

November is here! segment 2

It's not yet midnight, so I'm still keeping up on my challenge!

I am thankful that I have a patient grandmother that taught me to sew at a young age and let me use scissors at age 2. I am also thankful that she has a huge supply of sewing stuff and gives me fabric even when I don't ask for it! I can't leave out that I'm thankful for the clearance tables and discounted fabrics at any given store, and my castaway clothing that can be remade into Barbie clothes, doll clothes and little girls clothes.
I'm very thankful for a sister that has finally become my friend. I'm thankful that I get to see her most days of the week and that she still changes poopy diapers and wipes snotty noses and helps with my kids even though she has a new baby of her own.

This may sound silly to some, but I'm thankful that I finally got a picture with all 4 of my kids in it, all 4 smiling, all 4 looking at the camera, amazing!

Lastly, for today, I am thankful I let my husband talk me into digital scrapbooking. I am thankful I can get something productive, worthwhile and creative done without making a mess and without spending any money. Oh yes, and I'm thankful to have 4 beautiful and funny children that give me an endless amount of material to scrapbook!!!

Honestly, I look forward to this all year.

Every year around Mother's Day is Father's and Son's, or the Aaronic Priesthood Commemoration as it is now known. Since Peyton has been in my life we have taken this opportunity to have Girl's Weekend. While the boys are away camping, us girls are living it up at home!
The boys left Thursday night and I took that evening to get the house cleaned up and did some digital scrapbooking. The next day, Friday, my sister Morgan came over and we started the celebrations. Sonic for lunch and we bought some candy and ice cream for that night, and loaded up on movies from the Red Box and Vons wanna be red box. (nothing beats Red Box!)

Mmmmmm, fast food. Clean, quiet, house. I love it.

I am so glad to have a girl to more fully enjoy times like this. She is a doll and I love having a buddy. We did some Dacing with her, which she loves....

My sister and I watched The Secret Life of Bees (my favorite of the 5 movies we got)

Morgan shared her Sour Patch Kids with Miss P and this is the face she always made. She liked them once the sour wore off.

I tried to capture her face and this is what I caught instead, a yellow Sour Patch Kid flying out of her mouth!

My Mom joined us later that evening and we had Me N Ed's pizza delivered, half combination and half pepperoni and pineapple. Our first flick of the night was Bride Wars, pretty cute, we laughed and enjoyed it. Second flick was The Curious Case of Benjamin Button. I liked it, we all liked it. It was different, if you know me, you know that I like different. I wouldn't however recommend it to all. We pigged out on Reese's Pieces and brownie ice cream. My mom and sister called it quits and went home.

Saturday left me to finish watching movies, Taken, very good, enjoyed it and then 7 pounds with Will Smith. I love Will Smith and his movies have been awesome, until this one. He was good in it but the movie itself stunk. Lame plot, pooey ending. I also did some more scrapbooking and just before my boys got home I was starting to miss them!

Babies Don't Keep

Janelle's scrapbooking abilities far surpass mine, but I can get by. I just finished doing this layout and although it is not my favorite kit, I love what it says. While I was doing it, Micah was sitting by me and he kept asking me who the baby was. To me that spoke volumes, babies really don't keep. I have finally gotten to Peyton's pictures in my scrapbooking and I am really enjoying doing the girlie layouts. Last night at mutual I made Mother's Day cards with my beehives and it was so much fun, they even liked it. It made me miss traditional scrapbooking for a bit, until it was time to clean up! So, on I will go with digital...

Good News and Bad News.

Problem solved, but I have to remake all of my scrapbooking pages that I did yesterday. I saved them at 285 DPI, that was the highest my computer would allow. Apparently they have to be saved at 250 DPI or lower in order to look right. So here is my redone page...

One of the reasons

I look forward to General Conference is so I can sit and listen to the words of the Lord while I get to do one of my favorite things...Scrapbook! No other time can I devote 8 hours to scrapbooking! Woo Hoo, here is just one of the many pages I completed this General Conference. I am so excited because I am finally caught up to Peyton's birth and that means I get to use girlie stuff!

New Obsession

Ok, I promise I will be working on and posting more blogs soon. We have been doing things and having some fun and of course getting pictures of most of it! I have been spending most of my computer time, ok, well, all of my computer time downloading digital scrapbooking stuff. I now have way more than I need and I really need to get to actually using it. I just got a little compulsion I guess. So, if you are into digital scrapbooking I suggest you take a look at my links, just be careful not to obsess! There are so many more sites that are great too that I have not linked, but my favorites are there. So, expect some new posts in the next few days, I hope I still have readers out there!!!

Digital Scrapbooking

It's my first page!!! It did take me a few hours, but only because I'm still learning. Once I get the hang of it all I can see where I can whip them out in no time at all. It's great, no wasted paper, no messes, you can use your paper and embellishments over and over again. I am no longer going to scrapbook every single picture we take, just the really cute or really special pictures. I am going to print the pages, so if any of you know a place, maybe something online, that will print 12x12 pages, please let me know!
