Most things are better PINK!

Truth be told, I'm not a very big pancake fan. It's usually quite easy to turn down most pancakes, but I have to admit, these looked pretty good. It must have been the pink color. I love pink. Tyler is pretty much always the one to make pancakes for the kids because I don't care for them much. I was feeling the Valentine love in the air and I decided to wake up a little earlier and surprise the kids with some pink heart pancakes before school on Friday.

Miss P just couldn't wait and had hers minus the syrup.
This is what really drew me in, those sprinkles made them so pretty!
Jacob was very happy about the heartcakes.
I guess Micah was too.
This is Benny awhile later, he decided that a little extra sleep was better than heartcakes.
Maybe next month I can do green clovercakes for our annual green St. Patrick's Day breakfast!

Night out and my little slaves

We went out for Valentine's Day last night for dinner at the Daily Grill where we shared a fantastic Filet Mignon and Broiled Salmon. It was a wonderful meal! I love fine food. After that Ty humored me and we went and saw Twilight at the $3 theater. It was my 3rd time seeing it and I still loved it. Tyler didn't hate it, which is saying a lot! If you know him at all, you know how he is about movies and tv shows. We got home at 10 and relieved our sitter (thanks Aunt Mo!) and continued to have a wonderful evening at home with kids tucked in bed soundly sleeping. Happy Valentine's Day!
My boys have really been wanting to earn an allowance and we have made it clear to them that they are not to be payed for things that are expected of them. So today I began their first training session, in my bathroom, just the sinks, mirror and counters. They did a fantastic job, I can't wait to teach them more!

I made them take their shirts off so the comet didn't bleach them. Yes that's me in the back in the pink robe, glad I remembered to put that on!

So cute

Ok, so I know I need to do better at this, but it's been a little busy around here. Yeah yeah, I know that everyone that actually reads this blog is in the same boat as me and you still manage, but anyway...I'm working on it. Yesterday Ben asked me if he could play with Peyton. I was about to tell him that she was still too little to play but he'd be able to play with her soon, something like that. Before I could form the words to let Ben down easily he was over at her bouncer seat playing "this little piggy" with her! So, I guess I don't give him enough credit, he actually knows how to play with a baby already.
On another note, Valentines Day, or night, I should say, was pretty good. Tyler got back from being out of town for a few days and it was great to see him again. Absense really does make the heart grow fonder. He bought me a Rachel Ray cook book that I had mentioned wanting (he is so good about hearing every comment I make about wanting something, it doesn't even have to be direct!)he also bought me a digital scrapbooking program. I have installed it, but haven't gotten any further yet. Wish me luck with that! He got Jake a new computer game and he wants to play that right now and is currently complaining that I've been doing this forever and writing a lot. So, I won't go into much more, but I have to add that Tyler also rented Bourne Ultimatum that I've been wanting to see, sadly, neither of us thought it was anywhere near as good as the first 2 were, oh well. It was a good night anyway, the worst part was being up most of it with Peyton coughing. I took her on a drive from 12am-12:30am and that helped for the next few hours she slept. It is so hard to have a newborn this time of year. Even if I didn't take her out and about her brothers would bring everything right back home to her, so that wouldn't even help, ughh! So if I sound out of it, it's due to my 3 hours of sleep last night.
