3 huge holes!

You may know that for the past few months or more we have been working on our front yard, and by we I don't exactly mean me! Tyler and Matt McCauley have been doing most of the work. Last Saturday Tyler spent 3 hours digging a 5x5x3ft deep hole for one of the Olive trees we have coming on Tuesday and he planted the cypress trees (I think that's what they are). He got sick and then he went out of town, so he wasn't able to dig the other 2 holes. Brent and Matt came over today and they were able to finish the other two holes, yea! I know it doesn't look like much of a yard now, but it will soon. It is really going to make a difference just having the Olive trees in, I can't wait. I look forward to the day when it is warm and I can sit out on the front lawn with the baby on a blanket and watch the boys play outside and ride bikes...

Digital Scrapbooking

It's my first page!!! It did take me a few hours, but only because I'm still learning. Once I get the hang of it all I can see where I can whip them out in no time at all. It's great, no wasted paper, no messes, you can use your paper and embellishments over and over again. I am no longer going to scrapbook every single picture we take, just the really cute or really special pictures. I am going to print the pages, so if any of you know a place, maybe something online, that will print 12x12 pages, please let me know!

So cute

Ok, so I know I need to do better at this, but it's been a little busy around here. Yeah yeah, I know that everyone that actually reads this blog is in the same boat as me and you still manage, but anyway...I'm working on it. Yesterday Ben asked me if he could play with Peyton. I was about to tell him that she was still too little to play but he'd be able to play with her soon, something like that. Before I could form the words to let Ben down easily he was over at her bouncer seat playing "this little piggy" with her! So, I guess I don't give him enough credit, he actually knows how to play with a baby already.
On another note, Valentines Day, or night, I should say, was pretty good. Tyler got back from being out of town for a few days and it was great to see him again. Absense really does make the heart grow fonder. He bought me a Rachel Ray cook book that I had mentioned wanting (he is so good about hearing every comment I make about wanting something, it doesn't even have to be direct!)he also bought me a digital scrapbooking program. I have installed it, but haven't gotten any further yet. Wish me luck with that! He got Jake a new computer game and he wants to play that right now and is currently complaining that I've been doing this forever and writing a lot. So, I won't go into much more, but I have to add that Tyler also rented Bourne Ultimatum that I've been wanting to see, sadly, neither of us thought it was anywhere near as good as the first 2 were, oh well. It was a good night anyway, the worst part was being up most of it with Peyton coughing. I took her on a drive from 12am-12:30am and that helped for the next few hours she slept. It is so hard to have a newborn this time of year. Even if I didn't take her out and about her brothers would bring everything right back home to her, so that wouldn't even help, ughh! So if I sound out of it, it's due to my 3 hours of sleep last night.

I brought a friend in the tub!

I've spent the last 3 days at home feeling like death. I have a throat infection and 2 ear infections and we thought a possible appendicitis. I was waiting for my insurance to approve a CT scan when I decided to just call my OB office and I talked to the back office girl there and decided that I did not need the CT scan. The Dr usually sews up the uterus on the right side so it is common for people to experience pain there, so, to make a long story short, I have been really, really sick. My mom took work off today so she could come take care of me and the kids and help get the house back in order. Oh how I wish she could do that every few days! Just a few minutes ago she got Jacob and Ben in the tub for me because we let them play outside and make mud! Well, somehow he brought a friend with him in the tub. My mom came in to me and said that Jacob wanted to show me and Micah something. *I went in there and he showed me this little boat bath toy that he got from the treasure chest at school and said he had a little friend in there. I said what is it, well, as I was saying this he tipped the boat a little and something came out and landed on his leg, it was a worm! A real live worm! I said, "Oh, Jacob, he isn't in the boat anymore, he's on your leg." He had him crawling on the side of the tub and everything, it was very cute. I'm ok with my kids taking bathes with friends!

Prophetic Passing

I imagine he's running to Marjorie now,

Yes, running, not waving his cane.

I see him embracing his father and mother

While they keep repeating his name.

I see him now meeting his forebears,

Brother Brigham and Joseph are there.

Sweet reunion of prophets, united by service

That only such noble men share.

I see him embraced by the Savior

While Father says, "Good and well done.

So faithful in stalwart endurance, I welcome

My noble, most excellent son."

I then hear the ripples of laughter

As he says the reception's just fine,

But he hopes that he'll get an assignment or two

Since there's no need to waste any time.

I can hear his clear voice in the stillness

At the close of this sweet Sabbath day,

Have faith and move forward - there's work to be
done.

President Hinckley would want it that way.

Ben and Peyton

Ben just can't keep his hands off of his little sister! So far there has been no jealousy at all, let's hope it stays that way. I think that me watching Lilly for the whole school year last year really helped Ben get used to having a baby take up a lot of my attention. I think Ben and Peyton will be good friends!

back to birthweight

Peyton had her first Dr's appt and her first shot on Monday. She is now back at her birthweight of 8 lbs. The Dr said that she reached this faster than most babies do, it usually takes them about 2-3 weeks according to him. It's funny to me because all 3 of her brothers were 12+ pounds by 2 weeks, they never lost any weight after birth and gained 2 pounds or more during the first two weeks. It sure is a change having a small baby. I love it though. Her clothes are still big on her!
